Our Team

  • Cam (PCP-IV)

Cam is a PCP-IV with BC Ambulance and a guide with experience working on land, snow and water.

  • Straun (WFR)

Straun does his best to put the "enthusiasm" in outdoor enthusiast! His background in canoe tripping, outdoor education and whitewater rafting back home in Ontario led him to pursue more adventuring in BC. Since moving, he's worked full-time as an instructor and outdoor educator while exploring all the mountains have to offer.

  • Ashley (RN)

Ashley (she/her) is an RN living and working in Vancouver. She spends as much time outdoors as possible; her favourite pursuits include climbing, hiking, camping, scrambling, and watching the dog unsuccessfully chase squirrels.

  • Alisa (PCP-IV)

Alisa is a Primary Care Paramedic with BC Ambulance working in Abbotsford. When she's not working Alisa loves being outdoors with her kids camping, hiking, and paddleboarding. In a past life Alisa was a dance and yoga instructor. Now she focuses her teacher energy on teaching EMR on the weekends.

  • Liv R (EMR | PCP-IV Student)

Liv works as a paramedic in Whistler, ski patrols on Mt Seymour and volunteers for Squamish Search and Rescue. Liv is a local artist in Squamish and hand makes climbing and bike packing bags from recycled outdoor material. Liv’s mountain bike helmet brim is perpetually crooked.

  • Jonathan (WFR)

    Jonathan (WFR)

Like most of our instructors, Jon is an outdoor enthusiast - but you won't find him in the mountains without a camera. In addition to pursuing a career as a paramedic, Jon is also building his own media company. His favorite outdoor activities include skiing, hiking, and alpine climbing; and his favorite things to photograph are landscapes, adventure sports, and astrophotography.

  • Moira (EMR)

Moira is an EMR ski patrolling on Mount Seymour and instructing wilderness first aid. When not working she can be found climbing, skiing, mountaineering, or curled up with her cat and a good book.

  • Michael (PCP-IV)

Michael is a paramedic working with BC ambulance and an active member of Squamish Search and Rescue (swiftwater rescue, advanced medical team). His previous career as a teacher brought him to CWMT, as he is able to combine his passion for emergency medicine and SAR with working in a classroom. When not instructing, or out in the field, you'll find him climbing around Squamish in the summer and skiing throughout the winter.

  • Ivan (PCP-IV)

Ivan works with BC Ambulance as a paramedic. In a past life, he used to be a climbing instructor. When not working, he loves exploring the mountains through self-propelled adventures. Climbing, running, skiing, biking, anything goes!

  • Raz (PCP-IV)

Raz is a climber, guide, paramedic, ski patroller, educator, technology wizard/programmer and croissant connoisseur. When not working, he spends his time volunteering with the Alpine Club of Canada's Squamish chapter, as well as Squamish Search and Rescue. Raz loves puns and while he used to be indecisive; now he's not so sure.

  • Kieran (PCP-IV)

A paramedic with the British Columbia Ambulance Service, and a Nordic Ski Patroller at Cypress Mountain. He is one of the first Canadian Red Cross Wilderness First Responder Instructors, and has contributed to that program’s development.

  • Mark (PCP-IV, BSc)

A paramedic with the British Columbia Ambulance Service and former science tutor with experience providing remote leadership and medical support. His experiences inform a distinctly dynamic and pragmatic approach to WFR instruction.

  • Zoë (EMR, RN Student)

UK-born Zoë (she/her) lives and works on Squamish Nation land in beautiful BC. She loves stoke, snacks, and Type 2 fun. Zoë has an extensive background instructing climbing. When not teaching, you can find her hitting the local trails on foot or bike, climbing, or skiing. Zoë is pursuing paramedic training and is also a physiology and anatomy super-nerd.

  • Dani (PCP-IV)

Dani is a Primary Care Paramedic with BC Ambulance. If ever you search for him and cannot find him, look no further than your nearest beach, cat cafe, baseball diamond (note he doesn't play, just watches), or local gymnasium.

  • Ben (PCP-IV)

Ben is an instructor, outdoor enthusiast and active paramedic with the BC Ambulance Service. When not working he volunteers for Marine Search and Rescue or, can be found skiing and climbing around the local North Shore Mountains.

  • JJ (EMR, PCP-IV Student)

JJ (she/her) works as an EMR with BC Ambulance in Whistler, teaches wilderness first aid in Squamish, and is a trainer with Whistler Blackcomb Snow School. In her free time she loves to ski, hike, scramble, climb, practice yoga, read books, pamper her houseplants and appreciate dogs.

  • Duncan (EMR)

I moved to BC from Scotland to build on my outdoors experience. I enjoy the improvisational, deliberate nature of wilderness first aid and sketchy trad climbing! When not working in private EMS, teaching, or volunteering on Vancouver’s Downtown East Side, I can be found being schooled on Squamish granite, setting routes for indoor climbing gyms, or exploring the North Shore mountains.

  • Liv M (EMR)

Liv works for BC Ambulance as an EMR/EMCT. A lover of all things outdoors, she has been an outdoor educator, member of RMSAR, and glacial kayak guide. When not working, you’ll find her seeking sunrise trail runs, backpacking, snowboarding and pretty much any physical activity in nature that gets those happiness hormones bursting.

  • Marley (PCP-IV)

Marley is a Paramedic with the BC Ambulance Service who grew up rock climbing in Squamish, BC. She loves to inspire adventurers to be confident and independent decision-makers by helping them learn the skills to handle whatever mishaps may come their way. When not in the mountains, you may find Marley racing her road bike in a Gran Fondo, or exploring the local forests with her dog, Teddy.
