EMALB Recognized Gap Training
In September 2022, the Minister of Health approved amendments to the Emergency Medical Assistants Regulation that substantially increase the scope of practice for First Responders and Emergency Medical Responders in BC.
Here at Coast Medical Training, we set to work developing a program. In April 2023, Coast’s EMR LERRT program became one of the first recognized endorsement restriction removal programs in BC!
Note: This program was designed for BC residents by Coast Medical Training, and is fully recognized by the BC Emergency Medical Assistants’ Licensing Board.
Deadline
Per Ministerial Order M292, all EMRs in BC ARE REQUIRED to complete this training withing 2 years after the date of the original approval, September 2022.

Blended Learning
What is Blended Learning?
Coast uses a true, scaffolded blended learning methodology in which fundamental knowledge material is delivered through an online format that you complete on your own schedule. This material is assessed in the online modules themselves, to guarantee your readiness for the in-class portion of your training.
Unlike some ‘blended learning’ programs, our in-class training does not simply reiterate the online material, but builds directly on it by focusing on hands-on application of that learning. This is why completion of the online modules is absolutely required before your in-class participation - failure to do so would unfairly slow down the rest of your cohort, and significantly reduce your chance of success.
FR Endorsements and Restriction Removal
If you hold an EMALB First Responder License and would like to add remove current restrictions or add endorsements to your license, Coast Medical Training has you covered!
Cost: $195
Duration: 8 hours online + 8 hours (1 day) in class.
Location: 8168 Granville Street, Unit 209 in Vancouver, BC.
Schedule: Because there are relatively few EMA-FRs in BC who are not with an organization, we are not scheduling any specific EMA-FR LERRT dates, because I do not want to risk having to cancel a course on you. Instead, contact us with your preferred dates or date range, and we will try to arrange a course to meet the needs and schedules of any FRs who are looking for this training.
