Endorsements Restriction Removal Training

Training programs for fire departments and other medical responder organizations.

Fully Developed Comprehensively Tested EMALB Approved

Program Details

With unprecedented ambulance wait times throughout BC, it is critically important that first-on-scene responders have greater access to the assessment tools, medical treatments, pain control options and higher quality trauma interventions that patients need in an emergency. These tools are finally available.

In 2022, the government of British Columbia approved substantial scope of practice expansions for all EMALB license levels, offering new opportunities for responders throughout the province to provide more comprehensive care to medical and trauma patients. If you are as excited about this as we are, and are looking forward to having your members at their full, expanded scope of practice, you might be interested in a Coast Wilderness Medical Training’s License Endorsement Restriction Removal Training (LERRT) program!

This page is intended for fire departments and other responder organizations who are looking to arrange group training for their members, or to establish a training partnership. If you are an individual looking for a LERRT program, please visit our public course page.

  • In April, 2023 Coast Wilderness Medical Training’s LERRT programs received approval from the EMALB to remove ALL endorsement restrictions from FR and EMR license holders.

Finally, after several rounds of testing and refinement, and we are finally satisfied that these programs meet our high standards for program delivery, and are pleased to announce that this training is now available throughout BC.

From the beginning, one of our main goals in developing this program was to make it easily available to fire departments and other professional responder organizations throughout BC, with blended program delivery, reasonable pricing, and a hands-on training focus. I hope that you will find it beneficial!

  • What is Blended Learning?

Coast uses a true, scaffolded blended learning methodology in which fundamental knowledge material is delivered through an online format that your members complete on their schedules. This material is assessed in the online modules themselves, to guarantee readiness for the in-class portion training.

Unlike some ‘blended learning’ programs, our in-class training does not simply reiterate the online material, but builds directly on it by focusing on hands-on application of that learning.

Completion of all online learning modules is required before participating in classroom training.

  • If you have more than 100 members to be trained, you might be interested in a training partnership. These partnerships include:

Instructor Development: Complimentary training for members of your existing instructor pool so they can deliver the LERRT program to your members.

Teaching Resources: All teaching resources, including lesson plans and PowerPoint slides, including any updates, provided free of charge.

Specialized Equipment: Free or low-cost provision of any specialized training equipment that is unavailable at your training center.

Local or Off-Site Hosting: Online learning modules can be hosted on Coast's Learning Management System or provided as SCORM packages if you prefer to host on your own LMS.

Administrative Support: All administration, records-keeping and reporting will be done by Coast.

Unlimited Updates: Any updates to online materials or in-class resources will be provided to you free of charge.

Lower Cost: A training partnership not only offers you the greatest flexibility in member training, but also substantially reduces your cost - the training partner fee for each trained member is only $30.

  • Coast Wilderness Medical Training Instructors are willing to come to your location, no matter where you are!

Class Sizes: 8-15 Participants (For larger classes, additional instructors or days scheduled.)

    Tuition Costs: $145 / Participant

Materials: All materials are provided by Coast - there are no additional charges for student learning materials, access to online modules, etc…

Additional Costs: Transportation and accommodation costs are charged on an at-cost basis - no overage or surcharge.

Large organizations and groups (+100 members) with an established instructor pool are encouraged to consider a training
