Join us for a weekend, and learn to make effective, informed decisions when things go wrong and rescue is hours away!
If you work, live or play in the backcountry, Wilderness First Aid will prepare you to manage medical emergencies when resources are scarce and rescue could be hours away. Don’t expect rigid protocols - a focus on basic principles, simple but effective techniques, and informed decision making is at the heart of our instructing philosophy.

Successful completion of the course earns you a Wilderness & Remote First Aid with CPR C certificate from the Canadian Red Cross, valid for 3 years.
If you would like to add an OFA-1 or Standard First Aid certification, please let us know when you register.
Recertification: 8 hours; you must hold an unexpired WFA certificate on that day to recertify.

Amazing team of instructors. They don't just share their experiences and knowledge verbally but throw you into real world scenarios and let you gain skill and confidence. Classes go hand in hand with students and instructors so you don't just sit down and listen, and they leave no questions unanswered :)
I want to complement Quinn on being an outstanding instructor. She was knowledgeable, energetic, and creative in her scenarios! I also appreciated having a women instructor, and commend Coast for reflecting the diversity of people who play and work in our BC wilderness.
The course content is vast in scope and extremely relevant to our situation. Every moment of learning was interesting. The instructors were outstanding, they know and love their craft. I also appreciated the learning environment - the course was taken seriously by everyone involved, but we still had time to laugh, connect, and have fun.
