Current Best Practices

As a Canadian Red Cross training partner, Coast Wilderness Medical Training offers you a course curriculum founded on current best practices as defined by the Canadian Red Cross, Wilderness Medical Society, Canadian Association of Wilderness Medicine, International Liaison Council on Resuscitation, and Paramedic Association of Canada.

Your training is delivered by experienced medical providers licensed as Emergency Medical Responders, Primary Care Paramedics, or higher. Our instructors specialize in backcountry medicine, have completed extensive instructor training, and have demonstrated an enthusiasm for developing immersive educational experiences. In short, under the guidance of a Coast Wilderness Medical Training instructor, you will receive the highest quality training, cleverly concealed in a supportive, engaging, and fun experience!

Student Supports

As a small training provider, we at Coast Wilderness Medical Training have chosen to focus on providing the highest level of student support, including:

  • Collaborative learning environments, where lectures are minimized in favor of discussions, interactive practice, and creative learning approaches.

  • Individual, ongoing support, that starts with your online pre-study and continues long after your course, no matter when unexpected questions pop into your head.

  • A Resource Repository that houses a wide range of free resources to help keep your skills and knowledge sharp.

  • Flexible Assessment Options to reduce testing anxiety, or just to take a bit of time and space after your training.

50-50 Financing Option

What Is 50-50 Financing?

All Professional Responder Courses at Coast Wilderness Medical qualify for partial deferred tuition. This includes FR, EMR, WFR, and upgrades and recertifications for these courses. Use the code 50DOWN when registering to receive an immediate 50% discount on your tuition fee. The balance will be invoiced to you separately, and is due on the first day of your course.

Is There Any Interest on 50-50 Financing?

As long as you pay your course fees by the first day of your course, there is NO interest. After 30 days, we charge 5.5% annual interest, compounded monthly.

Do I Have To Apply for 50-50 Financing?

No. 50-50 Financing is available to ALL professional responder course registrants. There is no application form, no questions, and no charges - just use the code 50DOWN when you register, and we will take care of the rest.

Sounds Great - Is There Anything Else I Need to Know?

A couple of things:

  • You will only receive your course certification after payment has been received in full.

  • 50-50 Financing cannot be combined with any other discount code.

Use the code 50DOWN when registering for any Professional Responder course to defer 50% of your course payment.
